It was, therefore, revived in\u00a02012. The association aims to develop and promote local tourism, as well provide information on the local attractions and sights. It organises various events such as lecture series, the culinary event <em>Prgarski dnevi <\/em>(Prga Days), excursions around Slovenia, and much more. It also carries out elections for the best-maintained residential homes in the area and publishes leaflets with information on local tourist service providers and the main village attractions. The locals, however, aspired to more independence when it came to the development of their home village. Up to\u00a01973, the village\u2019s population was just over\u00a0700. The number of inhabitants later increased, and hamlets like Polje, Dolina, Pod hribom, and Ledina appeared. The roads leading to Zasip were paved by\u00a01980. Today, Zasip Local Community, which covers 4.9km<sup>2<\/sup>, is called home by 1064\u00a0villagers.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"3\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-2293\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Zasip Parish<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-2293\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"3\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-2293\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Zasip, Stagne 8<br \/>4260 Bled<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Parish Priest: <strong>Matija Selan<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Zasip parish is one of the oldest parishes in the area. It was most likely founded before\u00a01004 as a proprietary parish, and later taken over by the Lambergar family, who in\u00a01296 already owned the right to appoint priests. The Church of St\u00a0John the Baptist was already the centre of the autonomous parish under the Patriarchate of Aquileia during that time. Up to\u00a01787, Zasip Parish covered only the area of Zasip and Mu\u017eje, with the churches of St\u00a0John the Baptist and St\u00a0Catherine on Hom. After\u00a01787, the villages of Blejska Dobrava and Podhom were annexed to the parish; however, the latter was later returned to Gorje parish. In\u00a01970, Holy Trinity Church in Sebenje became part of Zasip Parish. The main farming activities are beef and goat farming, although horse and goat farming is also common. The main goal of the society\u2019s members is to maintain and treat the pastures, which are located in the vicinity of Zasip, on Hom, and in the Voka area, while the largest pastures can be found in the valleys of Zgornja Krma and Spodnja Krma. A herder supervises the animals on the Krma mountain pastures between June and September. Both pastures also include huts that provide accommodation to the herder during the summer months. Prgarca hut, which is located at\u00a01763m in Zgornja Krma, was rebuilt in\u00a02004 thanks to extensive voluntary work. A winter bivouac that is used by the Mojstrana Mountain Rescue is also attached to the hut.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"5\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-2295\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Zasip Pensioners\u2019 Association <\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-2295\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"5\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-2295\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>ZASIP PENSIONERS\u2019 ASSOCIATION<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Zasip, Sebenje 6<br \/>4260 Bled<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">President: <strong>Helena Jan\u0161a<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Zasip Pensioners\u2019 Association was established in\u00a01988, when it separated from Gorje Pensioners\u2019 Association. The association brings its members together in various events and meetings. From the establishment of the association, its members have participated in bowling and bocce competitions and hosted annual New Year gatherings. The association organises an annual excursion around Slovenia and a picnic together with the Gorje pensioners on Hom. Its members also partake in regional meetings of Gorenjska pensioners. They show consideration to older villagers by paying them regular house visits and organise and attend various lecture series and local projects. The resistance movement had already begun beforehand; to be precise, on 5\u00a0August\u00a01941, when locals blasted the pipeline of the Pi\u0161kovca power station. Today, the committee is responsible for the commemoration of WWII\u00a0events by organising hikes along the courier route Me\u017eakla-Bor\u0161t-Hom and ceremonies for the Day of the Dead, as well as by maintaining memorial sites at Zasip cemetery, on Hom, and at the Pi\u0161kovca power station.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"7\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-2297\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Kamot Cultural and Arts Society<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-2297\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"7\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-2297\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>KAMOT CULTURAL AND ARTS SOCIETY<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">President: <strong>Meta Vodnjov<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kamot\u00a0CAS is a society of young Zasip artists, and encompasses different activities. Meta Vodnjov is the creative leader of <em>Mladi Navihan\u010dki<\/em> (Little Rascals), a group of preschool and school-aged children that perform children\u2019s and folklore dances, sing Slovenian folk songs, dramatise, improvise, rhyme, and play with movement between September and May. In\u00a02017, Kamot CAS launched an improv section called <em>Va\u0161ka scena<\/em> (The Village Scene) under the leadership of Mark D\u017eamastagi\u010d. The society began theatrical productions in\u00a02016 and performed their first successful comedy <em>Usodna pletna<\/em> (The Fatal Pletna Boat) the same year. The theatre group performed the play <em>Poklju\u0161ki zdravnik<\/em> (The Pokljuka Doctor) the following season. Lucija Vidic is the playwright of both comedies. At first, the society did not have its own space, so it had to hold its activities in the old fire station and later in the youth centre located next to the parish barn. The youth centre burnt to the ground in\u00a01961, so the society had to move again, to the reconstructed former school in\u00a01965 where it still operates to this day. Zasip Culture and Arts Society today includes the octet\u00a0LIP, the Embroidery Club\u00a0Katarine, and the choir Canticum Novum.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"9\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-2299\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Zasip Voluntary Fire Brigade<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-2299\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"9\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-2299\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><div class=\"el-meta uk-margin uk-text-meta\"><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>ZASIP VOLUNTARY FIRE BRIGADE<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Zasip, Sebenje 17<br \/>4260 Bled<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">President:<strong> Primo\u017e Koren<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The voluntary fire brigade was founded in\u00a01906. The Zasip firefighters built their first fire station in\u00a01910 and bought their first motor sprinkler system in\u00a01934. They acquired a new motor sprinkler in\u00a01978 and built a new fire station in\u00a01981 in place of the old one. As the village continued to spread and develop, the need for protection and firefighting increased. To keep pace with the changes, the department obtained a\u00a0TAM (Maribor Automobile Factory) fire engine in\u00a01985. A new firefighting water tank was constructed in\u00a01990 in the new settlement of Ledina. An Unimog multi-purpose vehicle joined their firefighting vehicle fleet in\u00a01997.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The department today owns a GVC16-25\u00a0Mercedes Benz Atego fire engine and uses a Renault Master for transport purposes.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a second-category firefighting parent unit, the Zasip Voluntary Fire Brigade primarily services Zasip local community, but also intervenes in the greater area of the municipalities of Bled, Gorje, Bohinj, and others. The club\u2019s founders were Miro Ulamec and Jo\u017ee Peterman. It includes several sections: the football section manages the football pitch on Hom, home to Hom Football Club and the Zasip veteran team. The bocce section uses its own bocce court which is located next to Kurej Inn, while the female gymnasts practise every week in the fire station.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"11\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-22911\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Zasip Red Cross Local Organisation<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-22911\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"11\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-22911\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>ZASIP RED CROSS LOCAL ORGANISATION<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Zasip, Sebenje 6<br \/>4260 Bled<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">President: Nata\u0161a Kokalj<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">RCLO Zasip started its activities after\u00a0WWII and first covered the villages of Zasip and Podhom. Its initiators were Matija Klinar and Marjana Zupan. The local organisation operates in accordance with the seven Red Cross Fundamental Principles: humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality. Its core task is to support locals in distress. The members of RCLO Zasip visit older villagers, organise social gatherings for senior locals, offer financial and material support to people in need, and coordinate courses on healthy lifestyles and first aid. In cooperation with Bled Health Centre, its members offer monthly monitoring of health risk factors for locals, such as blood sugar levels and blood pressure.
